I Do Not Mean to be in Such Pain
i do not mean to be in such pain
and through corridor stares
i do not mean to bathe only in the rain
but things have failed
and they can never be the same
dreams,
are where i find what went before
the person who stepped through a door
i wake,
and the pain is real, the hurt still sore
i do not mean to wallow
but in my emotional drunkenness
the grief is an easy light to follow
dreams,
are a strange parallel
of a life that came and went
and remembering my childhood,
it was so different
i do not mean to be in such pain
