You Could Never Roll Me Into a Ball – July 2012

You Could Never Roll Me Into a Ball

where do we begin
happiness
is written on a white flag
and i heard they were digging
to find out what made you so sad
a self appointed expert
you could never roll me into a ball
i was the child
who climbed greater walls
happiness
is not a tag
sown into the back of your coat
which seems kind of funny
i can hear a choke
every time,
that the word is spoken
but then they swing their satchel
and about how they are not broken
people like me
with our homegrown tags
tend the garden
and fill up the rubbish sacks
i am glad
triple fazed and braised
i am so sad
