Reassurance
it is funny
how i have not known you –
for that long
but i find myself
needing your reassurance
i find myself, leaning on you
and although i try not to contact
i find myself –
somehow, finding a reason –
to speak to you
it is the genuine people
who care for you
without ‘shrugs’ attached
yo use a modern saying,
‘they have your back’
somehow needing your reassurance
and your tactile gestures
comfort is precious
closeness hard to measure
