I’d Like to Chase Sunshine

a vodka crush
can be too much
can leave you delirious
relationships can be, flirtatious
but somehow,
end strangely hilarious
with the joke on you
i will wear my coat
and wrap my boots around my feet
build a castle with a moat
i am scared of the women i meet
incase they notice i do not always float
a vodka breakfast
cannot be eaten quickly
you wash it down,
with the night before
when you played the final card
and held open the door
relationships are just a living,
that we do day to day
i’d like to chase the sunshine
everyday in every way
