A Scratch
a scratch can leave me detached
a possession can pass me by
without ever catching my eye
a film in black and white,
need not make me cry
philosophy need not make me think why
a scratch can be like a dent
i could remain indifferent
of change suddenly by accident
a scratch can be like a little pain
a scratch on my imagination
is revealing the canvas underneath
a scratch by somebody’s nails
taking the exam i failed
passing the place in the snow
where i came off the rails
on a glossy bright fen
there are no obvious trails
a scratch can leave me detached
but i will be back
