Self Esteem

believe in yourself
it is your right
even when they –
try to sink your flight
tell others
that self esteem
should be trapped –
in a dream
and hope –
should not be on –
an endless bungee rope
believe in yourself
those others
with their aftershave
and perfect smiles
have left them with time
and now they walk for miles
take a chance
on the person –
who knocks the loudest
on your kitchen door
i know it will be fine
