Any News Means Change

any good news –
is tempered –
with the knowledge
that mum is not here –
to share it with
it is a lost gift
and any news –
means change
and change means
life moving on
the, almost fear and guilt
of what you fear –
you are leaving behind
and we do not –
want to feel
that life has joy
but of course it does
and mum
will always have my love
