Insomnia Thoughts (Originally Untitled) -Written Tuesday 29th August 2006 (Aged 31)

Insomnia Thoughts

felt distant today
did not sleep well last night
i could swear –
at around four in the morning
loneliness crept into the bedroom
and watched me
for an hour or two
as the sky turned from night –
to its morning hue
i felt alive today
but manfully removed –
from the stresses and strains
that others seemed to feel
as if i was away
in a place less than real
i could swear –
that last night
loneliness pulled up a chair
took in my thoughts
and just sat there
picking over those insomnia thoughts
the ones that we never share
