Love and Hate
i sat there
clutching my empty coke bottle
i watched a couple
their conversation hung in the air
like a fog of non reality
as i clung on
i became aware of my reality
they kissed and cuddled
and never noticed i was a fatality
i sat there
as the train carried on
the news recently
reminded me that we are here and then gone
in a blink of an eye
i was a stranger sitting there
reduced to bare soul
and the nature of my tears
love and hate seem close
one skips through the garden
one watches whilst the other grips –
you by the throat
