Tagline to Truth

we sit there
drinking real ale
i push out the boundaries
and confront what failed
the childhood, the confidence
that got derailed
for me it is my mission
into an unknown place
i listen to his reasons
i listen his tales
hoping someone, somehow
it will give me a glimpse
of the tagline to truth
the other one is frightened
poisoned since birth
left to count demons
in the aisles of their church
but i sit there
with a real ale clutched in my hand
these strange times
i hope and need to understand
