As A Child
i suffered as a child
they say,v
the suffering ‘forges’ us…
perhaps,
across the anvil of life
maybe it strikes when it is hot
and perhaps,
sometimes, we have to fight
just to make sure,
you are not forgot
i struggled as a child
and i found quickly,
that words hit home
so try and take it away
and i will leave you alone
i suffered as a child
but then it is clear
and that is the make up i wear
the personality mix and match
of love and hopeful care
please leave your door on the latch
and i will be there,
do not turn your back
