Courage and Strength (Originally Untitled) – Written Wednesday 19th April 2006 (Aged 31)

Courage and Strength

i remember when you were strong
i always knew it was a front
i always knew inside –
loneliness was gnawing away
but, now, as we talk –
they like such different days
the strength has gone
the barriers pulled down
the distances has been lost
the closeness found
i remember when you were strong
i know it was only an appearance
it takes real strength –
that is the difference
real strength to do what you have done
to put your hand up –
and say, look i am not getting along
in fact if life,
is this road that we travel on
then before i myself continue to cry
can i just point out –
i am broke down here at the side of the road
to be honest, that takes real courage
and that takes real strength
