Flowered
i grew at sixteen
i flowered at seventeen
picked up from the floor
by hands that heal
by minds that think alike
by mechanics who,
removed the stabilisers from my bike
it was easier when i embraced the dead
those who clung to the living
it is where i learnt about the world
and that it could be more giving
i flowered again at eighteen
when she took me to bed
and then i crashed and burned at twenty
with a toxic fog in my head
the downward slope of depression
i sunk back into the womb
in an act of absolute regression
i flowered again at twenty six
when my one man part came to an end
and you knocked me for sixv
as i rediscovered family and friends
i have flowered every year since
as time moves so quickly
actually, long before we time to think
