Churchyard
in the churchyard
the sunset compliments the scene
i dream of this sort of beauty
but i can never seem to capture –
it in this life
i will do what i feel best
i will follow the path i think is right
i was standing –
waiting for you to pass
i thought if i could catch you
you would see things –
from the way i feel
but i may as well step back to fantasy
then face what is real
your touch is golden but a fading memory
it is just an ancient part of me
like the churchyard under the sun
i am all alone
my dreams are imprinted
upon a marble gravestone
slowly watched by a setting sun
as they rot behind me
i wonder who we are
and i wonder what i am meant be
