Mind the Gap
for years i looked away
when i heard, mind the gap
and i looked on,
every time a childhood was killed
knowing inside,
that gap is the hardest to fill
lovers cannot do it
and no drug can compensate
you hope that you are sane
but you know that you are a state
mind the gap,
the one that acts like an open gate
into a field
where no harvest will take place
for years,
i fretted about my mental state
and the cracks across my plate
the one with in life i was served
some would say,
one which perhaps no one deserved
so i just mind the gap
and hope that faith is preserved
