Roaring Forties
the roaring forties
no rationing for me
all things,
that i own
i remember the boy
who choked on growing up
and lost their toys
the awkward boy
battered by ill meant winds
the roaring forties
and here i am
mum kind of hoped
i would settle it down
and have children
and a partner to love
someone to steady me
that is what she thoughts
that is what she perceived
but now she will never know
sometimes you just have to leave
the roaring forties
no battlelines for me
self doubt can still find the oars
so sail this boat gently
and face every storm with me
