Free World – Written Sunday 6th September 2020 (Aged 45)

Free World

america,
it has a president,
a, ‘man’,
who is built out of their american values,
aspirations,
and its love of individualism and capitalism
it is how they define success
loving a libertarian
and now the country looks on wondering why it is such a mess

the united kingdom,
still believes it has an empire
in its identity and ideals at least
that the english white man is superior
and everything else is just beasts
is it any wonder,
that societal class system is just corrupt
when in this country our patriotic identity is an unsightly boil
that continues to fill with puss

the free world has never been free,
it was built on the back of slaves
and in this country, kings, queens, aristocrats and we
and just poor poor knaves
in america,
it is the time of the free enterprise cult
and it has a blind unquenchable lust for free trade
and this putrefied corruption
and seemingly, this is what we fight for, this is what we try to save
