The Cupboards are Bare
when life is empty
and the cupboards are bare
i guess it can be –
hard to show you care
they will never never know –
how much they hurt
and justifications
that it is what i deserve
somehow increases the pain
and never really work
even now if i was to plead –
that the labelling
and accusations
too me back to a childhood –
i barely survived
i wonder if the flame of compassion –
would flicker and come alive
would ever accept –
good intentions or not
and the panin they so readily caused
cannot be easily forgot
