Headlights Fully On – Written Friday 29th March 2010 (Aged 35)

Headlights Fully On

it does not lessen the hurt
but it reminds me
that a heart is still open
and it helps me realise
that my emotions still flow
i thought seasons became winter
but now i know
that this storm may just go
and that my life,
will be illuminated once more

it does not lessen the hurt
and until now,
no one has had more of me
of more of my heart and my being
my absolute feelings
but now something looms into view
headlights fully on,
and she unravels the news
she dries up memories
the ones made of stale booze
it does not lessen the hurt
but it does add a perspective
and i must move on
