Holding Back the Hurt – Written Thursday 28th February 2008 (Aged 33)

Holding Back the Hurt

holding back the hurt is hard
what you say to him
you once said to me
i see the jigsaw
and how easily pieces are replaced
i have been cloned
except they have a happier face
i sit here and think
confined to a featureless world
thankfully dreams never shrink
you look to me as if it is okay
i dutifully say the words
but they do not make the pain go away
i simply go through the motions
of course you believe
you would not think anything else
you would never know that I grieve
holding back the hurt is hard
