Moving Past You – Most Likely Written Sometime Between September and November 1994 (Aged 19)

Moving Past You

growing is part of learning
just as learning
is part of growing
if you are not moving forward
then where are you going?
do not stand still
try and achieve something
tell her how you feel
let them know –
that they should not rely –
on just you
you have so much to do
waiting is like taking
taking time for results
results that you know will come
but sometimes –
you have to be quiet
otherwise the opportunity has gone
and the time before something else
could be so very long
and even if it is short
sometimes promises are broken
you trust is emotionally bought
people see it as a token
so get up and get moving
instead of things moving past you
because when you are older
you should not regret
so get out and live now
today is a day of wishful thinking
i hope you know
