Future Machine – Written Monday 7th November 1994 (Aged 19)

Future Machine

you are built –
like a silver shod future machine
you are a blast from the past
but my angel,
i wish i knew what you had seen
they say that good things do not last
and time, it does go so fast
child psychology
inside you brain
I am here, a memory from the past
i am doing it again
but i am not so wicked
just a little strange
you move like the most beautiful of things
if you were not so real
i would reach out,
and say you were a dream
it is not just the way i feel
i can take you anywhere
i would show you how special –
and how much i care
but now when i look
i cannot find you anywhere
writing you a book of beautiful words
i would be there whenever you want
if only this life was not so absurd
i am smiling and i am clean
my silver shod, future machine
