Time Off in Lieu

fortunate, it is true
i have been fortunate
and the hardest work
i have ever undertaken
is on me,
at a young age i felt the slide
and what i might turn out to be
but, i have been fortunate
somehow, along the way
i have met people like builders
who have helped me construct better days
and, i am not a slave to hard work
but i put in effort and overtime
when it came to working on me
there had to be a better person
someone reasonably equipped for calamity
but, i have been fortunate
and there is no, i have done fairly okay
why can’t you?
you are lifted up or just put down
that much is true
