Hearts Teach Such Harsh Lessons
the person
i really fell in love with
they could never
really appreciate my worth
the person
who made my heart
skip every beat
left me
cleaning empty streets
they never valued
my feelings
and that is a shame
that is a pendant
you never need
around your neck
but still i love you
do i have any respect?
the person
i really fell in love with
will always define me
and that is a shame
a shame that the heart
teaches such harsh lessons
and i will always love them
and that is my final confession
