No Easy Fix
i remember twenty six
and i remember falling in love
like love did not exist
like the last train home
could not be missed
but how did that train –
lose it’s destination
was it a moment of madness
a lapse of concentration
did i take my eye off the ball
or was it just another situation
that was large in size
but quickly became small
i remember thirty four
it was a maze of options
and brightly coloured doors
some led deep inside
and changed all the scores
leaving me here, at thirty five
trying to find an excitement
so similar to twenty six
but i should not sit here and lament
there is no easy fix
