Some People – Written August 2010 (Aged 35)

Some People

some people leave you disbanded
or with no place to go
i say, direction it overrated
it is what you know
and it is what you catch
just before you throw
some people leave you with no sense of time
with all of the grapes yet without the wine
some people leave me with memories
but their name, it always manages to escape
but i know they have changed me
from suburban blue to a large grey sea
i have become salt water and fresh air
and i have to ask, would we ever be free?
some people leave you on the high wire
or with thoughts so liberated
but never and not now, never be overrated
