Your Hands Are So Cold – Written April 2000 (Aged 25)

Your Hands Are So Cold

you do not know me
your hands are cold
your mind leaves me alone
you do not know my culture
and there you are,
laying out a claim to my future
you do not know me
you would not mourn my death
and you do not know,
about my hope of being free
i do not need your alcohol breath
your hands so cold
it leaves me alone when you hold me
i feel so alone with you close
your hands are so old
and your words mean nothing
your hold is so cold

James Garratt – April 2000
