They Open Me Like a Box
the strangers follow me
they follow my shadow
my silver chord is their light
and they like its glow
the strangers follow me
and wait for me, there in the dark
they are ready to pounce
when i fall apart
the strangers are unseen
but there in every part of the day
and now, part of my being
they are faces in crowds
they are lonely people that reach out
the strangers come and look
and they open me like a box
