I Am Still Learning
i am still learning
can’t you tell?
that’s why i sometimes scream and yell
i am still learning
practicing my smile
please be patient
it may take a while
i am still learning
learning that i am not a child
and that,
childhood probably did not exist
and it is not true, what they say –
what you never had, it can be missed
i would like to think i am special
that somewhere there was a god
with a god-like plan
but i know i am just a fragile human
just putty in their hands
i am still learning
every single day
every second that i breathe
i know that i have to hang onto the rocks
before i finally leave
i am still learning
and learning what it means to believe
