The Shoe

what have i done
to deserve happiness like you
did i find the foot
to fit the shoe
did i rewrite stories
so that they became new

what have i done
to deserve happiness like this
did i swap the caribbean dreams
for a true english kiss
did i do something new
did i find the woman
would you wear the shoe

what have i done
to deserve happiness like you
did i reappraise what is above
did i slide down the metaphorical slide
when i first felt your touch
did i read the rules for cluedo
or is it none of the above
because there are no clues
it is just the way it is
what have i done to deserve you
