Heavily Flirted – Written Tuesday 4th May 1999 (Aged 24)

Heavily Flirted

i spent half an hour
instead of the usual two
they took their time
and if i gave out my number
i am sure she would phone
i left, and caught the bus home
someone i have met
sets their heart on me
and it is hard to forget
it left me in a daze
i spent the whole journey
under the heat of their gaze
i almost blushed myself to death
i fell like a teenager again
i had butterflies and i held my breath
and here i am, holding my breath
now i need someone to hold me
because i will catch a cold in this heat
i wonder in awe,
can i truly open a door
and i wondered about our future
like water, it is in our bodies
but i know it is far from pure
