I Met a Stranger – Written Sunday 20th May 1999 (Aged 24)

I Met a Stranger

i met a stranger
but it only led to danger
and a demon,
occupying my bedroom
i met a ghost at my house
my ouija board fingers
trembled with memories
of absolute hunger
i met a vision in the hallway
today can seem so far away
i swapped the beat of my heart
just to stop myself falling apart
i cursed for my sanity
and my vanity reflected in mirrors
i met a stranger
it is only led to strange friendship
and a longing for someone
who i have never physically known
yet through whom –
i have spiritually grown
i met a demon who was like glass
shattered were my feelings
how quickly the time passed
but so much has remained
and so much is still so chained
yet, so much remains
