I Thought They Cared – Written August 2008 (Aged 33)

I Thought They Cared

i thought they cared
but,
it was a relationship
with tied in conditions
there,
for failing situations
a life spent out there
but needing,
an internal investigation
and,
i thought they cared
i cannot play victim
that ladder does not exist
because when i climb it –
i find myself slipping
and it is easy,
too easy to believe
it is us they are actually missing
