We Are Not Alone
suffering, it does not have a trademark
and pain has no manual
not one where the pages are neatly marked
isolation is not just one vehicle
abandoned in life’s giant car park
suffering does not come with exclusive lights
it comes with a ton of soul searching
and some lonely nights
it does not have a copyright
and it is not a personal PLC
loneliness is widespread
that look of meaningful company
it is easy to cry
and it much more difficult to stop
i suggest we blink our way through –
the storms of our tears
and notice that we are not the only ones on the rocks
