Cotton Candy World
collapsing clouds
in a flurry of my lost dream
strong trees
forged in a furnace of growth
oh my –
what has happened
to this cotton candy world
the ugly scar of history
weeps –
for injustice and equality
oh my –
the mighty axe is wielded
but we do not know
of this harshness
we are meshed to a safer softness
oh my –
how i look on
as armies surge forward
unaware of the war they wage
how, their rightness –
is eggshell paint for their laconic rage
they know not
what it is they fight for
perhaps they can believe
they can make the future secure
