Always Seeking Love – Written March 1995 (Aged 20)

Always Seeking Love

give me some attention
i do not need this,
footbrake rejection
what can a child do
when even one of his parents
decides to reject them
how is this child affected?
will they always –
live in fear of being rejected
will they –
be left constantly seeking attention
people say i do it all the time
so what if i do,
is that wrong?
i would love to look inside their mind
i bet somewhere –
they have such a sad song
i live in fear of not being accepted
being turned down
or just generally rejected
but so what,
i can at least be honest about it
i always try to be honest about myself
perhaps sometimes it is too much
but at least i am being me
always seeking love,
always feeling the breeze
being true to myself
even though it brings me to my knees
