Closer to Home
parents can be –
quick to identify –
problems within their child
yet they –
are less eager to identify –
problems in themselves
children,
their own children –
appear little more –
than kid scapegoats
they are quick to label
and what is wrong –
with their children
they are quick to judge
and quick to condemn
but they do not judge themselves
they do not look and reflect upon –
their own demons
their own actions
and then take responsibility
are the problems with the children
which they judge as, ‘abnormal’,
or are the problems closer to home?
