Death – Written Tuesday 17th January 2012 (Aged 36)

Death

death forces us into a classroom
looks, and then it bolts the door
it teaches us about the value of those still alive
and then it teaches us about –
the darkest pain inside
death gives us a lesson in how to slowly breathe
and when pain and suffering –
gives way to a pure form of grief
the death teaches us of the horrors that lie beneath
death is not specific and it has taught me
that losing someone is beyond the horrific
death is unkind but at least it knows when to go
as it leaves us to anymmouous human traffic
