Firestorm – Written Sunday 12th December 2010 (Aged 35)

Firestorm

i escaped the firestorm –
of my teenage years
i sailed down the river
as a twenty something
just trying to deliver
now i am in my thirties
it could mean anything
so drink to another day
of mangled stealth
another day of deficit disaster
and a lack of equal wealth
keep moving ahead now
keep shoving past
they turn the pages
of a book destined to last

James Garratt – Sunday 12th December 2010
