Kittens Lap Up Milk
they shout at me
sometimes,
they do not contact me
but they always –
lap up –
the attention and compliments
like kittens lap up milk
they forget about me
how my life is built
but every flirty comment
is worn with pride
but it is not returned
and the shouting,
the telling off
that i do not need
she did not respect me
she did not care enough
she was happy for me –
to sacrifice my emotions
when will it become clear
i need lives much better built
because they want the compliments
like kittens lap up milk
