Whirlpool – Written January 2011 (Aged 35)

i lost my self respect
because i gave it to someone –
who felt that –
it was worthless
some people,
you know,
they are not quite there
they have plastic coated hope
and salt based care
i have opened up –
like the preverbal tin can
but despite all my beans
they do not know who i am
i found my life in a whirlpool
