You Were Impossible
i had to let you go
i cannot hold onto the impossible
which is hard
it’s not like feelings are invisible
it’s not like they are really felt
but this is my snowman
and it is destined to melt
i think about you
and the moments we took
now i must turn over –
the page in my life book
we live and sometimes learn
i sigh deeply,
and my stomach it churns
i wish i could have kept you here
right in that place
my hand forever –
stroking your sweet face
i know you had to let me go
i know that is the case
i dare not let any of this show
it hurts and it is such a waste
