The Unbroken Chain – Written Monday 5th November 2007 (Aged 32)

The Unbroken Chain

if a parent cannot accept their child –
for who they are
then how will that child learn respect
and how will they travel far
if a parent cannot accept their child
then how will the child learn to accept themselves?
and will their life just be one long search –
where they just want to be somebody else
if a parent is rejected
will self belief reign?
will self confidence be so easily found
if a parent cannot accept their child –
for who they are
is it more likely –
that will not be able to accept themselves
is it true that life for them has been no picnic
and they always to be somebody else
this unbroken chain
how sad we see it time and time again
