No Truth in Their Face
there is no truth in their face
no warmth in their eyes
just the harshness,
of emotional starvation
of nuclear skies
and dreams that vaporise
there is no glow in their skin
no wisdom in their smile
where does trust begin
is it to do with being a child?
there is no want in their look
no feeling of closeness
no strangely compelling book
there is no happiness in their face
features covered from sadness
it must be a cold and lonely place
James Garratt – January 2007
