(This is My Reaction) Three Steps Back

am i meant to react to you
be visibly shaken
shocked by your lack of truth
impressed by your clever –
but not actually clever remarks
be savaged
by your gun laden bark
am i meant to bow down
to your intellectual might
and just agree with your delusion
be blinded by your superior sight?
tell me what responses you need
do the jibes and insults –
make your past go away?
obviously not
by the things you continue to say
am i meant to react to you?
a scared a fragile being
one who never stands tall –
to scrape their dreams of the ceiling
someone who is always three steps back –
from reality and actual feeling
