Do We Save Ourselves?
do we save ourselves –
or do we save others?
do we impeach our dreams –
or hide under the covers?
it is cold outside
and it is cold inside
and when a layer of frost
clings to our memories
who could clear it –
and wipe down –
our long lost faces?
who would be bold enough –
to tie our laces?
do we change ourselves –
or just change others?
do we save tent peg dreams
as if there are no others
