Universe
i have always felt –
reassuringly small in the universe
accepting that all life is quite short
and that,
i am caught,
just for a brief moment or two
that all this around us is fleeting
and that life,
has many different greetings
and i know i am –
not the centre of the universe
all though –
when ego and emotional damage –
has gone on one of its rampages
i have wanted to be
i have wanted to be noticed
but i have always felt –
reassuringly small in the universe
accepting that my time is relatively brief
spending a lifetime in different seasons
turning over a different leaf
holding on,
and then hoping to feel complete
i have never felt any different
– no about my flickering state
my flickering bulb
my place in the universe
even if i do not always understand my place
or how i am involved
i know there are many complicated curves
and I know and i feel –
reassuring small in the universe
