Regrets Are Always a Lost Cause – Written Saturday 29th January 2022 (Aged 46)

Regrets Are Always a Lost Cause

what is the use of regrets
you cannot change the past
but at times, when looking back
it feels like it’s going to last
and adopting points of view
does not change a thing
does not change them.
does not change you
and although your past can be tough
why continue to chew?

what is the use of regrets
you cannot not change the past
you cannot get what has gone before
people came into your life
they acted upon what they saw
and what they experienced
you may be different now
and you make much more sense
but was then and this is now
and that is the difference

what is the use of regrets
i have tried to life them up
and demand that they be corrected
but people no longer exist
and they cannot be resurrected
you cannot ask for a forgiveness
or demand to be accepted
not when they have left your life
and landed upon foreign shores
do not swim and then drown in the past
regrets, they are always a lost cause
