Trash Can Darlings – Written Monday 1st February 2016 (Aged 40)

Trash Can Darlings

offering security
when your own security is in question
offering love,
when self esteem is dragging your feet
offering safety,
when you are incomplete
do not think too deep
for it will rips holes,
in every beat of your sleep
and when you start sinking
think of your worth to other human beings
we are all, ‘trash can darlings’
recycling ourselves
making dreams, swaying in situations
i have tried to define my moves
and i know when it is true,
there are things things you will lose
in your search for something bigger

James Garratt – Monday 1st February 2011
