How Did I Get Here? – Written Sunday 3rd January 2016 (Aged 40)

How Did I Get Here?

i have to admit –
that these days i do look back,
perhaps more,
than i every have
because, these days,
more than ever,
i just want to know how i got here

i have to admit,
now, at my age,
i am prone to previous chapters
and i do turn back to previous pages
maybe that is unhealthy
of course, i can know –
the joy of the new –
and the joy of moving forwards

i have to admit –
that these days i do look back,
i look at people, i look at events –
i even look at those decisions
that have shaped the now
and i admit,
there is a fascination –
with this so called, ‘life journey’
